At the entrance of the Laguna del Diamante National Park, the expedition comes to a stop. The road ahead is still closed. Snow covers the upper sections, making any further progress by vehicle impossible. What seemed within reach the day before is suddenly out of access again.
Waiting would mean losing time. So the decision is made to move differently.
They leave the vehicles behind and continue on foot, pushing forward as far as the terrain allows, aiming to reconnect with the route taken by Guillaumet through the mountains. The pace slows. The distance is no longer measured in kilometers driven, but in steps.
The expedition shifts once again, from road to terrain. From here, every meter has to be earned.
